FAQ

The CreaTent roof system is displayed on the respectively customary snow load and wind loads. The foils itself are extremely tear-strength and have a very big wide resistance to tearing. It prevents, that the smallest damages to big tears expand. We have already laid out roofs for 150kg/m2 suction load and 200kg/m2 snow loads (the weight of three persons per m2). In some cases the membranes become supported on the underside with braiding rope.

Composite materials from PVC-coated polyester fabric or from glass PTFE have unambiguously asserted themselves in the textile construction.

On account of the big variation possibilities in the fabric qualities and coatings they show an ideal material. The respective requirements specific for the project, the budget standing at the possession as well as the aesthetic and formative wishes of the builder determine all the selection of the material.

CreaTent-membrane roofs exercises partly considerable on edge forces, the substructure construction and there with also on the foundations. The wind computationally to be attached and snowy loads are given. However, an optimisation of the forces can occur about the geometry of the construction. An example: If an Edge column is slackened vertically, the substantially higher strain forces prove than a sufficient place to exist in order obliquely to be able to carry out the edge cable. In small and medium-sized projects, measure foundations are generated usually. With big membrane roofs, additional Micro pile will come to the use. They take over the high tractive tensile force of the exhausted ropes and lead them in the development site.

The CreaTent system subdivides itself into different material types. Although the membranes are very thin, they offer because of the exceptional mechanical characteristics of the material (load reception characteristics, extension characteristics) an extremely high stability.

With the above described material types it concerns the standard products which find more than 90% of all textile roofing’s in use.

For both sides the coatings of the fabric are considered basically the most deceased synthetic material into question, such as for example PVC, Synthetickautschuk, Polyethylene or PTFE. In the practice of the textile building, PVC prevailed however almost exclusively, not finally thanks to its large variation width.

The coating mass PVC permits a huge number of chemical additions. This thereby, guarantees that the membrane material can be exactly adapted in his most important qualities - density, light permeability, UV permanence, and constancy, against different media as well as wear firmness, to the requirements specific for application. For example, the following qualities are reached by the suitable chemical additions:

Regularly the membranes of the CreaTent roof system are white. The colour asserts itself with most buildings, because white membranes have Translucence, according to material strength from up to 15%. Costs are saved by the high Translucence with the lighting. A white membrane roof is therefore neutral for the observer. Coloured materials are also available on inquiry of course.

After the Swiss norm SIA 280 the CreaTent related by CreaTent membranes are hailstorm resistant. In spite of observance of the Swiss “hailstorm norm” there have already been hail damages with CreaTent roof systems. However, in this suitable case, glass roofs were damaged in the surrounding area totally, just as well passenger cars were damaged. The surface varnish of the membrane was injured and the protection of the fabric did not exist any more. In this few cases the CreaTent roof system distinguished itself by the fact that the construction at the time was not collapse-threatened. The CreaTent roof system was still dense. The time for the assembly of the new membrane paid-up by the insurance could be chosen by the builder-owner freely. For the operator it came to no business interruptions.

Even if the CreaTent roof system is very stable, it can come of course to damages. Small damages can be repaired either by the builder-owner or, however also by the specialist staff of the CreaTent GmbH. Bigger damages can be repaired temporarily, however the membrane should be substituted at a suitable time. Also if trough the simple possibility of the provisional repair the time factor plays only a secondary role, a new function of the membrane is realised within less days and is substituted by the CreaTent roof system.

PVC membranes with a fluorine varnish are extremely smooth. The example of the Teflon coated frying pan is sufficiently well known. Because of that much characterised surface tension of the membrane the soiling cannot fasten at the membrane, but rather also rains are rinsed. Thus it does not come to soiling and alga developments, so long the CreaTent membranes are intact.

CreaTent membranes systems are self cleaned that is that soiling and exterior surface is washed in the rainfall by the rain. This also counts to strong soiling like bird’s excrement or intensive air pollution. A cleaning of the membrane can be carried out very easily with water and a suitable addition. The distance in which such a cleaning is supposed to be able determines as a result upon the soiling. In the case, CreaTent roof systems are cleaned at a distance of approximately five years. For the operator of the objects which have been realised with CreaTent roof system the self-cleaning strength of the membrane has a special meaning, as the maintenance cost is minimal.
